For this course I am hoping to get as much knowledge and advise from the people I will be working with. I am also hoping to be able to decide what area of medicine I want to specialize in. While working with the staff, I am looking forward to learning their everyday routines and what I truly takes to work in the health care industry. One thing that I am most excited about is being apart of caring for others in need and being able to make a positive difference in their lives. One thing I am extremely nervous about is stepping up and talking to people I have never met before. Putting aside my shyness is one thing I will struggle with during this course.
In the article ''Why 20% Time is Good for Schools'' by A.J. Juliani the topic is about giving students more time during their curriculum to express themselves while learning in the process. After reading this article I completely agree with what some schools are starting to do. Giving students that extra 20% will help them develop new ways of learning that might be easier for them instead of the standard ''multiple choice'' quizzes. Currently being a senior I wish this would've been used in schools years ago. Giving not only myself and other students around me an opportunity to express our ideas more could have greatly effected our learning process and grades. I completely agree with this article that schools should start using the extra 20% time and I know without a doubt would help many students.
